When people think of portals, they look outside for a doorway to appear that they can step through..

In the process of painting, I am learning that perhaps portals to other dimensions are internal, not external.

Entering them is about going deeper inside yourself, deeper inside a feeling or way of being.

Though it might be nice to find an escape hatch to another dimension, there is no door, portal or means of escape into another, better world outside of ourselves.

Which is perhaps why so many spiritual teachers say, if you want to change the world, begin by changing yourself.
