Maile Meloy is a short story writer, essayist and novelist.. Her recent book, BOTH WAYS IS THE WAY I WANT IT was selected as one of The New York Times Book Review’s Ten Best Books of 2009. Recently she published her first children’s book, THE APOTHECARY. In this interview she talks about what attracted her to writing a book for children and the ways in which children’s and adult books are different and her process for writing novels.
